Centennial Olympic Park’s 4th of July Celebration is the place to be on Independence Day. The Parks largest event of the year provides Atlantans a full day of entertainment. Arrive at the Park early to secure a good seat and enjoy fun for the whole family. Children’s activities are in the south end of the Park and include arts and crafts, face painting, performances, inflatables, stilt walkers and more. Experience various food vendors and pick up a souvenir from a unique merchandise vendor and the Visitor Center. Or just relax on the Great Lawn and splash in the world famous Fountain of Rings. Live, family-friendly entertainment takes the stage in the late afternoon before a nationally acclaimed, headline act performs. The evening culminates with an impressive fireworks display that lights up the beautiful, downtown Atlanta skyline and is synchronized with a special selection of patriotic music celebrating Americas Independence.

“I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country”
-Nathan Hale
“America is therefore the land of the future, where, in the ages that lie before us, the burden of the World’s History shall reveal itself.”
– Georg W. Hegel
“Intellectually, I know that America is no better than any other country; emotionally I know she is better than every other country.”
-Sinclair Lewis
And, as much as it pains me
“America has never been united by blood or birth or soil. We are bound by ideals that move us beyond our backgrounds, lift us above our interests and teach us what it means to be citizens.”
-George W. Bush
What are some games that can be played indoor and outdoor or some activities?
Indoor:
Name that tune: Patriotic themes
Musical chairs: set to patriotic music
Movie charades: once again Patriotic themes….IE: The Patriot, North and South, etc….
Guess the Jelly Beans: red, white and blue jellies in a big jar. Just remember to count how many you put in. 🙂
Outside:
water balloon toss
watermelon eating contest
watermelon seed spitting contest
contest of decorating a hat in an American theme. (cheap materials at the dollar store)
Contest of wearing the most colorful, patriotic clothes.
I’ll keep thinking..

What are some inexpensive ways to celebrate the fourth of July. Hey guys and gals could you please also share the activites you do on the 4th of July.
I kind of want to stay home and get on the roof and watch the fireworks but thats at night time…so I need some ideas and activities do before then and Recipes if you could please….
Thanks all!
Okay, here’s what we do…I make a “to die for” chocolate cake the night before the fourth. We go to my husband’s brothers because out of six brothers,,,this is the rich one…He has three huge decks and a swimming pool, plus a pond….so it is fun to go there..
He grills the meat and we all bring side dishes…mine is dessert. After the kids play in the pool, we have our cookout. Then my husband and musicians and singers we know, all get together under the trees,,,we sit up a stage with mics and such…and everyone sings. One of his brothers and his wife, are a Gospel duo,,,my husband and the rich brother were in a band for years…first country and then Gospel…..my nieces all sing country…and all of them end up with old time rock and roll….”Build me up Buttercup” and Elvis songs being favorites…”Mustang Sally”..”Elvira”…that sort of thing…
then I usually wash dishes that are dirty, we use paper plates and cups but there is always dirty dishes, and I alway do them because no on else will start and I want to go home because I am tired..If I waited on one of my other Sister in laws,,,we would still be there at dark…so that is what we do….It really is a lot of fun though…my DH was a lead singer for years so he enjoys singing especially and it nice to hear the two of them be funny…they crack us up.
So that is what we do…Oh, and if the Casino puts on a fireworks display, some of the younger ones will go and watch that. I’m not sure if they have the display since Hurricane Katrina…We live on the Ms Gulf Coast.
